you really lucked out. you have tyler there in the dallas/ft worth area to help if need be. there are quite a few syty's in your area.
just got an email from Steven from Austin stating:

" I am in the Austin
area, small town North called Liberty Hill. Al (Syclone)lives in Georgetown,
Tony (Typhoon) in Cedar park, Jim Kelley (Syclone) in Cedar Park, Jim Duda
(Typhoon) lives in Austin proper. It would be fun, I am wanting to go to the
track when the weather turns a little cooler for some final tuning and
adjustments on the Typhoon. We could probably swing something in that time
frame. " ( time frame being a few months from now for a get together of Texas SyTy's)

btw, have you seen the hottied on the hood contest at 3si.org. that girl and guy are my close friends.....
pics are awesome...
but we have Will's (will_in_denver) Girl here at the "mile high syty warez" thread which is by far the best of its kind thusfar.

I do plan on getting a cheap laptop, any ideas where? Is there a website for the datamaster software so I can see what specs the system needs.

DataMaster is a regular Windows program. From what I've seen, there aren't any "compatibility problems" with certain laptops like on the older DOS software. Just get a Windows computer that meets the specs, and it should work fine with just tweaking the connection timing. www.akmcables.com sells the software with the cable, or you can make one of your own using the schematic I posted in the Tech Articles thread on diagnostic software.

Congrats on the truck. Looks great, and at a good price too. Sounds like it was pretty well taken care of. Welcome to the biggest love/hate relationship ever. =)

I did something bad and did not see the truck before I bought it, found it on ebay, the guy stopped the auction for me. Luckily everything has been good with it so far. He had owned at least one typhoon before this truck.

Yeah, my closest friend down thier is also going to Blinn, he drives a black Exterra...he likes cars, but that is it....he wanted to get a WS6 but he ended up with that, his name is Jay Mckenzie...you might know him or have heard of him....everytime he goes back down there after a trip to DF/W he drops off the face of the planet... :-?

I also knew a guy who went to Blinn named Matt Gaffin, he is onto cars and has a 70 Boss 302...he moved back up here last semester though. There are a few other aquaintences, but they aren't car people....there were only about 5 of us in High School that were true car enthusiasts.....haha...can you tell it was a small school!

ok, I am going to get a cheap laptop and the software, but now...if I find out I am running good, what would it take for me to get into at LEAST the very high 11's? Is it possible on the Stock Turbo?

11's on the stock turbo is not possible. someone correct me if i am wrong. I think the fastes stock turbo trucks are running 12.4's. I have heard of Daron and a few others running those numbers with stock turbo trucks but they are tuned to perfection and they have other mods. they can tell you more than me. HTH

also, watchout for your propshaft and tranny. THEY WILL BREAK

more is always better, but I would definitely be happy with high 11's...hell...I would be happy w/ low 12's in all reality, but at least high 11's is what I want.

so my chip wouldn't work to run high 11's? How much do you think it will cost to get to my goal?
