You misunderstood me. I wasn't expressing doubt in YOU. Like Jas' said, we've seen these types of posts come and go without any real solution to our cable issue. I, for one, sincerely hope that you're ARE right. I'm just reluctant to order a few of these from a retailer standpoint due to the difficulty of returning them if they do turn out to be wrong.

Anywho, let us know what you find out.

Well...theres not much to find out being that this is my second one from the same place. But just to comfort everyone in their sleep I will take pics of the cables for you guys. Like I said before, I went through absolute hell tracking this cable down before. I knew it was out there and everyone I went to sadi dealer only. At NAPA they have a catolog, this cat. has a pic of both ends + lentgh + MOTOMITE part #. Now they cant get it for what ever reason, they didnt seem to know either but again its all in the part #. ADVANCED HAS IT. 9 days to go before I get mine. BTW can some PM me and tell me how to post a pic, I have never done it before.

this happen to me a few years back. i could not find one anywhere. i had no choice but to weld it back together. i could not find a cable nowhere. and neededit asap. if guys say this is the right cable you found. im in for one. if not i might put a b&m hammer shifter in it.

If you are in for one then go to Advanced Auto Parts and order MOTO MITE part # 16662. It may take a while depending on where you live. The first time I ordered one it took 3 days, this time since they dont have any in their warehouses, its takin 7-10 buisiness days.

I would save yourself the headache and just go order one yourself. He will have to wait 7-10 days then you will have to wait however long it takes him. Thats a lot of waiting. Unless he buys em all up for "safe keeping" then I would just go order it yourself. It costs $42.00. I will post the pics of it as soon as I get mine in on Wednesday. I may order a few more when I get the chance cause when I talked to the Motomite company they werent sure if they were going to make them anymore due to low sales or something. I would assume they have low sales cause they are hard as hell to find. You really have to be looking for it to find it and believe me, I was looking my ass off.

advance auto told me they can not order it till they ware house gets them in. they dont know when they are getting them cause they sad the request for them is low.

Like I said before, it usually depends on who you talk to and how much work they do. You'll see tomorrow when I get mine. Im going to borrow a digital cam so I can post the pics here. I wrote earlier that they didnt have any in the warehouse when I ordered mine this time but I sure am getting it. I will talk to the girl that got mine tomorrow and tell her to tell me how to go about getting it. If y ou want I can give you her name and the # of the Advanced auto parts here that im getting it from and you can order it from her. Her name is Brandy and the # is 719-599-9696. I was a total ass to all the employees there so I could be sure to get one. I went down there and had to hold their hand to make sure I got the right one and that they would even track it down. Dont let em give up like that. They CAN get it.

i deal with them all the time. the guy i deal with gets everything i need 99% of the time. maybe he dont know how to talk to the other end to good. thanks for the info. i wil;l be sure to call and order one

I am ready to order mine but want to hear that it is 100% correct first.
Around here anything special order means you pay for it before they even place the order.

Well, I talked to them today and asked where the hell my cable is. They had to put me in my place and remind me that I have to wait 7-10 BUISINESS days to get it. I ordered it on the 2nd so they told me it should be here on the 16th. I forgot about the whole buisiness day thing cause I was so excited...sorry. Got me a digital cam though to take the pics for when I do get it in.

BTW, if you need some assurance before I get mine, go to NAPA and look through there cable catalog. Its in there cause thats how I found the part # for mine. The catalog shows both ends of the cable and lists the length too I believe.

Well the site they gave me is wrong. And they wont ship it out. Where else should I look?

Or, the next order that goes through someone remember to order me one and ship it to me please.

Dude, I dont think youre kickin down doors over there and you need to be or you WONT get it. Have them call their tech line. They are being lazy. Unless they have a different policy to refuse you parts instead of actually trying ( this means making phone calls to their techline or possibly motomite ) to get it for you. If the part# is in their computer and it is stocked somewhere in the world, there is no reason you should have to take no for an answer. Im going to call Motomite today and see if I can come up with a simpler method.

Motomite (dorman) does not list it as a part they make. They do say to call them for certain applications.

Like I said before, they may not produce them anymore. When I called them they told they are not currently producing them and they werent sure when or if they will be. Thats why I go through Advanced cause when I got mine in March they said they had a few in their warehouse.

Ive got some bad news guys, Advanced called me friday morning only to tell me that they cant get it cause noone has it. I do apologize for getting anyones hopes up. As far as I knew it was on its way cause thats what they told me the day after I ordered it. Not sure what I m gonna do now. The cable was still under warranty so im thinkin of tellin tehm they have to get me one even if its from the dealer. Well see I guess. I tried to call Motomite and they told they arent going to make them anymore. Sorry guys again for the inconvenience. Next time Ill wait to post when I have it in my hand.
