Re: boost problem. Wiring the wastegate shut is not a good idea with a suspected boost leak. That would just let it spin up without any means to control the rpms, and if there is a leak your turbo is already going to be spinning close to its limits.

Re: transfer case issue im pretty sure I thought the rears could be spun without the fronts, basically overpowering the VC. When a VC fails doesn't it lock front and rear together like a 4x4?

Re: maybe a silly question about gears and transmissions... If you're trying to calculate diff gears by speed and rpm why not just pull the diff cover and know for sure. Just a side note, when doing this calculation is the TC locked?

Re: tune up from hell. now i need help I've crossed a couple plug wires before just changing plugs. Very easy to do when doing a complete ignition tune up, never hurts to re-check firing order.
