I am rebuilding a spare 4.3 so that I have an assembled bottom end to back up my stock powerplant that is pushing 147K
Engine will have Federal Mogul forged pistons, eagle rods and a 4 bolt main conversion. Nothing crazy, just sound bottom end.
My question is heads:
I have seen some posts, especially by jwaller that is saying 300.00 for the heads and 500.00 for the intake modifications. I can't justify that much and the time down (daily driver).
What is the best avenue for bolt on heads that accept stock Ty intake?
I have the heads from this spare 4.3 TBI engine, and the facility to port and polish on them. I also have access to manley valves. Am I going to be best off to have a machine shop 3 angle valve job these heads and port and gasket match them for the best benefit.
