You could always check with Morgan and see if he has anymore cool front license plate mounting brackets.

Re: Got pulled over yesterday

I have a front plate.

It's under my seat!

After all the work we did to smooth the front bumper I am hesitant to drill the holes even for morgans plate hanger.

I just pay the fine and keep driving it the way I like it, naked.
Someone has to pay for all the local PD to get fat and catching real criminals doesn't pay.

Re: Got pulled over yesterday

Now that looks like a fun project. I am thinking a licence plate intercooler scoop or a way to have it attached under the front cladding that can be flipped down with a selenoid or a cable!

Re: Got pulled over yesterday

I got pulled over in Pigeon Forge, TN during Mini-Truckin Nats in my '99 Sonoma stepside for not having a rear bumper. It was the factory stepside bumper, but they liked to harass us. I told the cop it was the factory bumper. He said it wasn't. I told him the truck had 7 tenths of a mile on it when I picked it up from the dealer, and the rear bumper was exactly the way it was when it came out of the factory. He got lippy with me, took my license and registration, and then when he was in his car writing up my ticket, I guess he looked again and he realized I did have a bumper. Came back and appologized, but told me to watch myself cuz he would be on the lookout for me to make sure I wasn't getting into any trouble that weekend. I also got pulled over one year down there for having hydraulics, when I didn't have any. Where they came up with the idea that I did, and saw me using them on the street I don't know.

I got pulled over six times in the first three days of owning my sy.. started to think it was a worse cop magnet then my supercharged stang.. I caved and screwed into the bumper :fist:.. three days later Morgan mentions his plans to produce license plate brackets :banghead:

Re: Got pulled over yesterday

Don't know if it's "legal" but I've seen them attached to the pas visor, just flip it down. I also see lots just laying in the dash. Mine has never been on, haven't been stopped, for anything, knock on wood, in that time. Sometimes it pays to be old

but it still iritates me to read about pullovers just for crud like that. They got better things to do. Now if you wuz doin' a 100...

Re: Got pulled over yesterday

I keep it right behind the seat. If a cop ask why its not on, im on my way up to get the bracket to put it on.

But it stays off

Re: Got pulled over yesterday

New front cover=$800

Ticket = <$100

Got a warning once in WA state for it. Just told the cop the bumper was worth more than his ticket, never got a ticket.

Luckily in INDIANA/KENTUCKY they don't even issue a front plate.

Re: Got pulled over yesterday

When I read the law here in Texas it said you had to have one plate at the front and read of your vehicle.
I have seen people with suction cups holding thier front plate on the inside of thier front windshield.
As long as you have a plate visible from the front of your vehicle you should be good.

I have never used a front license plate and have only been ticketed for it once in 16 years of driving (ticketed in my STi 3 days after I bought it for no front plate..it still had dealership plates on it and I have never seen a car with paper plates front and back)

LOL it sure ain't $100 anymore in WA. I think they are moving it to $300 on Jan 1 2008 and there is talk about it being $500. WA State is LAME. There was a bill to remove the requirement for a front plate but ofcourse they killed it. Guess giving tickets for this makes them money.

One of the reasons states try to get the law changed is because they will make more money off of license plates if they only have to provide one.
Also, a study done by the D.O.T. I read about a few years ago stated that they couldn't find a single case of any type that was solved because someone had a front plate.

In most states no front plate is a "fix it" ticket so you get no fine if you fix the problem.

Getting laws changed isn't easy even if the change makes sense.

I believe we are still waiting on a vote on an attempt to change the law here in Texas.
