Re: Interesting Syclone find close to me

Thread update, rusty sy sold to a local buddy of mine tonight for 2k! Guess the price wasn't set in stone as he previously stated. Next is the ty!

Part out or rebuild? I hope it gets saved.

Re: Interesting Syclone find close to me

I agree that given its history and rarity that it could pull 10-11k in todays market.

I agree it can pull $10-11k because I have $10500 sitting in the safe I am willing to shell out for it. Not worth any more to me than that because the potential mice damage, crusty fuel system etc/etc will require some money to get that truck back to where it should be.

Hope it works out for AJ. He has a nice touch at transforming these into showstoppers.

Re: Interesting Syclone find close to me

I think its worth what someone wants to pay to put it in their garage. How often do Aspens come up for sale? especailly with a cool verified history. I know I have paid a little more for cars over the years due to the fact that I know if I dont buy it at that time for their price, I may not get the chance to get one like it again. How many Aspens have sold in the last 2 years, 3 maybe?

What were the miles I did not see them anywhere in the posts??

I know Todd Austinson. I bought Todds TTA #733 back in 1999. And the leathal weapon proto is safe and sound in a climate controlled garage in Illinois. Its low milage undriven and in perfect condition.

So are you saying that the Aspen in this post is not the Lethal Weapon Aspen shown on the Warner Brothers contract Powercat posted?

Has anyone verified the vin on this Barn Aspen?

Re: Interesting Syclone find close to me

The one used in movie is 91 proto. The production Typhoons were not ready so proto was used. Marty is confirming this. This truck is in illinois. I seen it w my eyes. Wb may have owned this truck in question at one point but after film was shot.

Hmmm.....well then, this changes the scenario sizeably IMO. Without the Lethal Weapon fame and pre-production status, it is just another Aspen and I already have one so if the above proves true, I am no longer interested in it.

Re: Interesting Syclone find close to me

Thats why i said to check the interior at least.....i doubt anyone would swap out proto interior and its a quick way to do a prelim until the vin is confirmed.

Re: Interesting Syclone find close to me

The 91 proto/lethal weapon has jimmy cloth seats and jams show different paint from aspen (black i think) gas tank leaks when full and other cool little things. its a raw proto as it gets.

Nice find! Does the ty still have the cloth interior?

This definitely does not have the cloth interior. The cloth one definitely belongs to Jason Leach. The only discrepancy is which of the 2 appeared in the movie.

When I look at the still from imcdb I think the back glass looks like production '92 glass with a rear wiper which would agree with the document, as the prototype has '91 glass with the metal ring and no rear wiper.

The problem is that photo is such an awkward angle it could be lighting/shadows playing tricks.

So I can't definitively say if the movie truck is '91 or '92.

It looks like it has rear wiper on the imcdb picture I haven't seen the movie in a long time may have to watch it soon

I would think both these trucks could have been leased by Warner for the movie and only 1actually appeared on camera and 1 was a back up, this is pretty common.
