TYTILIDIE
METH HEAD
Well, as some of you know, I wrecked my TY last Sunday morning. I just got word yesterday from the insurance company that they will pay for the damage. Whew. I decided I am going to try and paint this bastard myself. I have never done it before and know about 10% of what it takes. I mean, I know what it takes but have never actually gone through so that really adds up to 10%.
I have always felt my compressor was too small so I am buying another one and will paint the entire truck. :rotf: I am hopeful with the amount of friends I have that own or work in body shops that I can get this done right the first time with very few to no mistakes. Here are pics of what I am working with
That is after the wreck, obviously. Today I had an hour or two to take stuff apart. I have gotten EVERYTHING apart that needs to be off. I made a junk pile and a pile of stuff I can keep. Here is how the truck ended up
Here is something I found bothersome. First off, my front bumper was literally untouched. So I think the frame should be fine, well I saw this and I am not sure if it was like this already but now my trans cooler look like it is moved inwards on the collision side. I have a good friend who is going to come by and measure up to see if the frame is ok. Luckily for me he has a frame straightening machine:lol:
Here are the junk piles
More to come. I am supposed to get my check Monday or Tuesday so as soon as it clears, I am going to order everything I need, go buy an air compressor and all of the necassary tools. I am hoping to have close to everything I need by next Saturday. I plan on taking about 2 to 4 weeks to get it back on the road again. Wish us luck:tup:
