Day 1

Day 1

Fellas:

Here are a few shots of day 1:

Basically, Day 1 consisted of removing the interior, placing the screws and fasteners in bags labeled with the approriate part number. I'm all about putting things back exactly how they came. I left the door panels for now, as I am waiting for a better panel puller.

The carpet will come out last, as well as the seat belts because the bolts require more torque than I thought. Something for an air tool to handle.

More to come...

Smaug-

Thanks for the warm comments. :p

The project has been a long time coming...just wish GM didnt charge an arm and a leg for parts headed for the discontinued bin.

I'm also going to be listing a nice lot of parts in the next few weeks, so stay tuned.

More photos will be posted soon as well...

:-?

Guess nobody has the balls but me. It's been offered for sale for some time. Perhaps more money than others, definately less headache.

Nonetheless....I drop quarters on it with the vision that one day one will sprout roots and a tree full of money will grow from the truck.

But then again, I'd probally have better luck winning the lottery. :-?

Spent the day removing the cladding and preparing for the paint. Removal wasn't too bad, just made a big mess in the garage.

Here are a few shots:

I was expecting worse than what was revealed; just some very minor surface rust. Not bad for 11 year old year round driven truck.

Hopefully tomorrow, I can display the truck in the raw state [ bare metal ]

I think I'm going to have fun putting this thing back together.

Stay tuned....

Hi Joe-

I wanted to stick with PPG; this was the best for my application.

Would love to see some photos of your '63 [merk@sportmachines.com]
