Re: Project Garnet Resto
Finally back from paint and back at my dad's house until I can get the interior in it. Then I'll room in my garage for it to come back here.
Paint turned out pretty darn slick if you ask me. There were some pits I found in the leading edge of the hood, so that is getting redone. There's a couple spots that look like some very minor dents in it. The truck was pretty beat up from 8 years of moving from garage, to outside, to barn, to garage, to barn, to storage, to garage, etc. I'll take it back and have those fixed once it's back on the road. Too much of a pain loading a non running truck onto the trailer and waste 1/4 tank of gas to get there and back. I want to get it running first, then will worry about the rest.
I got a little bit of the interior installed. Pretty much spent a lot of time cleaning 8 years of dust off the parts and doing a quick inventory of what I have, and the grocery list of parts, mostly screws, that I'm missing. I'll be making a thread probably within the next week to help me identify what parts are what. I've forgotten a lot in the 8 years since I took it apart. Hoping to have the dash and rest of the interior in by this weekend. Glass is getting installed on Wednesday, and hopefully all the cladding next week. Then it's off to get some exhaust welded up and a custom upper intercooler made. Hopefully that doesn't take too long so I can get working on all the wiring and other little odds and ends. Going to be pushing it to get it running by Nats, but it'll be there no matter what.
