Oops... (Vender) I will fix that. I blame myself and the quality education I got from public school.
I personally don't like selling to vendors just so they can flip an item for cash to another member for twice as much as they bought if for. I guess it would be ok if the vendor had to fix whatever it was so that he could put his name on it and sell a quality product. It does not bother me that I got my asking price. I am happy with the price I set and sold them for. But when I told the buyer (vendor) that I wanted to sell to a regular guy that can't afford the higher prices of a vendor. He kept his mouth shut, Pulled out the cash, and the deal was done.
I just think that as a vendor. You should state who you are when buying used products that you can benefit from. If I had an old POS wheel set and Smith called saying that he was from Rare Part Sales and wanted to buy them to have them refinished for a customer. That would give me the opportunity to make a decision of sale that I fell would benefit all parties in question.
Or maybe you are correct. Maybe my thinking is all wrong. Maybe I should only sell to vendors. This way we can keep the value of replacement parts so high that the average person can not afford them. So that the insurance company's will keep salvaging out our SyTy's because the price of the parts to repair the vehicle are too expensive. This way, if we only sell to vendors. We can cut out the middle man and do like wall street and our government and try to keep the rich, rich. and the poor, poor. I hate bankers. Those who say, "Piss on all those that can not afford it. So go sit in your shanty while I sip my champagne and count the money I received from your taxes. "

that makes the story a lil different if you verbalized this to him. However...if he's wanting them for one of his personal vehicles I see no issue.

He did say that they where going to be a spare set. In my mind, I was thinking for him. But it was not discussed what they where actually going to be used for. Sale or personal. I did not know he was a vendor at that time.

Did the vendor state who he was at or before the time of sale? That is what matters here. Giving the seller the right to chose who he sells to. I choose not the sell to vendors. What you do, is up to you.
I don't care how long a vendor sits on his product to sell it for a profit. That is his job as a vendor.

Money talks BS walks.. Feel good if Scott bought them. Scott bought a set off of me too, and has been around a long time helping others.. I doubt you had a line at your door to purchase the wheels, I sure didn't, so I was happy somebody actually wanted them.. I believe he cleans up the wheels and turns them back into a good set for the next noob or purist..

Who are you to tell anyone what they should or shouldn't buy and from who and or why? Be lucky you got your money, a lot of board members would have tried to gouge you down to $200. This hole post has gotten out of hand. It was not about what exact person or how much money was exchanged or where the product was going in 18 years. It was just that I feel a vendor should say that they are a vendor when buying from people they don't know. I don't like selling to vendors. But that doesn't mean that I will not make an exception. The way that the deal went down seamed smooth until a day later when I found out he was a vender. Then it made me feel like I got worked over. Hence the post title Vendors posing as Members. Even though I might not have sold to him once I knew he was a vendor. He could have made a sale of his own. By him and he, I mean all venders in general. Why not advertise yourself every chance you get.
