Definately no Typhoon, and we've definately been screwed again Jimmy. I've been doubly screwed, since I have 6 sets (3 sealed cases) shipping to me tomorrow, and not a single mini-Typhoon in the bunch. I never received any useful reply to either of my emails to JL Customer Service, so I have no idea as to when/if JL will actually release this casting.

On the other hand, if anyone needs any of the castings that actually are included in this release, let me know... I should have plenty of extras to go around by this weekend.

When the cancellation announcement came out, they only specified R3 being cancelled, but many people (and some of the JL On-Line Dealers) assumed that R2 was gone also. I'm absolutely sure that R3 is cancelled.

R2 actually ended up being a really nice set, and I'm glad to have them. I'm just so disappointed by the Typhoon being dropped that I can't bring myself to be happy about it.

I'll bring this one back from the dead, since there is some evidence that the JL Typhoon might finally come to be. Milezone.com posted some of the 2009 Johnny Lightning pre-orders yesterday, and a 1992 GMC Typhoon is listed in MuscleCars R20, scheduled to ship in April. I'll believe it when I see it, but I'll still probably pre-order a case just to be sure.

Yes, go to JohnnyLightning.com and sign up for the free collector's club. Read the January issue of the Bolt (the club newsletter), which features a preview of the upcoming 1992 Typhoon release. Apparently the first one will be White with Grey Cladding. Now that you reminded me... I need to pre-order a couple of sets so that I'm guaranteed to get enough to play with.
