Re: my small project

After bitching, yelling, and throwing stuff I think I got the hard stuff done. The turbo was a bigger bitch then I was expecting. Got it in. Lower pipe wrapped. Not sure if I will wrap the upper pipes yet. Everything but the vac lines, DP, lower IC pipe, plug wires and inner fenders are in.

Re: my small project

It's so clean under there  I wouldn't wrap the upper pipe, it looks so good the way it is :rotf: Man, you're almost ready to fire it up and be bulletproof forever..........hopefully

Re: my small project

worked on it again this weekend. Trans is done..Again. Whole bottom of truck is done :D No more crawling under it..For now at least. After Sean left today I was able to finish everything but the drivers fender and vac lines. No pics for now till I get my old computer to work better. My laptop is in the shop. I hope to start it up sometime this week.

Re: my small project

Unwrapped upper ic pipe looks nicer in my opinion but unless you have meth injection wrapping it may help alot with keeping your intake temps lower.

Re: my small project

I am spraying meth. My temps at night would drop in the 70's on a run. I wraped the turbo to IC pipe.
Last pic before my IC went on. I love a clean engine. and yes I put a bolt in that bracket hole.

You need to get the March Performance pully set. Polished and cleared. Clean engine is sweet!!!!!!

Re: my small project

Blew a head gasket on the Ty last week so I decided to tear her apart. At first (on page 1) I was like cool someone is doing exactly what I am; untill I saw how far you went. Nice job, your setup looks amazing. I went with the cheap version of your project, painted some things on the truck :) and may have left that bolt out on the bottom bracket (jk). I didnt do anything beyond the top end and a lot of cleaning everywhere else; I am jealous.. pics soon of the finished situation.

Re: my small project

Thanks..It started out small at one point. today I painted and installed the inner fenders and CC parts. Looks empty with no ABS on the drivers side. Just have the Vac lines and I am done :D Hope to have pics tomorow. Just got a memory card reader for my POS computer because my laptop is in the shop. I wish the geek squad would hurry up with it.

Re: my small project

I noticed you had some problems with your rockers. I went with l35s and when I put them back together I was unsure about the method of install. Stock heads have the rocker posts pressed in and on the l35 they are screw type. I bought the heads assembled and only when putting them back did I notice(they werent there). Long story short they are all tight so tightened them up to 20lbs or basically just under a turn past 0 and they are all seemingly ok although I have not run the truck yet. What was your reason for using different rockers? (which ones?) and you didnt have to get a new set of pushrods did you? They appear to be the same length.

Re: my small project

my heads came complete with posts, valves and springs. The posts were the wrong size. I figured while I was getting the new posts i would get new rockers and hardened pushrods. Pushrods looked to e the same length but i never checked them. Reason for the new rockers.....I just figured why not. I never like stock rockers so i got the cheap stamped rollers with the 1.52 ratio. i got most my stuff from RPM.
