Re: Think I just blew my first transmission..what now
what a lot of people don't get is 99% of shop owners really want to do right by the customer- its the way you build your business- every customer lost isn't just 1- between word of mouth and refferals from them you could lose 10 or 15 potential customers. Even the best shops in the world have jobs that don't come out right, and usualy if your calm and let them work they will fix it and make it right. Its just as frustrating for the owner of the shop that the job isn't fixed correctly than it is for the customer.
I always try to stress with people to just relax and treat the shop owner with respect and it will almost always work out for you. Transmissions are the oddball of the automotive world- most repairs are pretty straight forward, but I worked as a GM transmission tech and was pretty decent- my mentor was one of the best I knew, and we still had transmissions fail that we overhauled, just like we had brand new GM SRTA transmissions fail right out of the box.
