Re: Rebuilding Ty #284
Noise was a thrust bearing. builder thinks it was caused by a balooned TC
Well, I have taken my TC to Phils, and they inspected it and said that it was fine, but that i could have an issue with my front pump. After an extensive talk with my builder, he is 100% positive upon inspection of the motor, that it was nothing internal that cause the thrust bearing to go out. With this in mind I see to only have 1 option, which is to pull the trans and have it rebuilt. I got a quote from phils for 1050, and if i want to go to a 5 gear planetary, 1200. Which, isn't to bad for a performance trans with a warranty. he said he had a turb around time of about 4 to 5 days, so I'm gonna take the trans out this weekend and have it run out there next monday.
I took the heads in but no word on if they are usable or not, I was gonna call tomorrow afternoon.
