    The best motor tie downs

I have 8 of these limiting straps available. they're custom made to fit sy/tys using factory bolts and are strong as hell. the upper mount bolts to the lower alternator bolt and the bottom mount goes right into some big bolt in front of the upper control arm and behind the steering box(don't...

    CA maallowable emissions #s

Anybody have their cert. from a recent smog? Reason is the smog guy at the shop put it in the comp. as a 1991 gmc s-15, but i don't know if those selections plus motor size (4.3mpi turbo wasn't an option) determines the max. allow emissions or if it's done based on vin #, but I want to make sure...

is my 9/11 locking up too soon?

just like it says- here's the problem: Sometimes(haven't been able to discern any common element-i.e. cold, hot, etc.)when the trans holds 2nd till about 2800-3200 rpm the tcc seems to lock either right at on a split second before the 2-3 shift.I suppose it does happen alot more when the fluid's...

    Injector duty cycle and afr

if i've got my stock chip/turbo/manifolds/injectors on with no alky and 46lbs fp(a little rich) how come on a dm file i took today wot 0-100mph, my afr was around 11.7 but my injectors never went oner 88%dc. why wouldn't the comp. just pull out some fuel to get the afr closer to 14.7? Jeremy

    Full manual valvebody

My HHP stage IV w/3200 stall 9/11 shifts like a dream in d&od, but the real treat is manually shifting it.Assuming the b&m pro bandit shifter being installed right now is user-friendly, I'm thinking pretty seriously about going full manual. I know I'd prolly have to run a 2-stage air shifter so...

changing fuel pressure for smog check

I've got a mech. herew in san diego that'll ignore my visual violations if the truck passes the sniffer test. I plan to crank down the fuel pressure literally on the side of the shop before I pull in. My question is how low to go? It's not a dyno style rolling test b/c of the awd, and I'll have...

Any shops in SanDiego exp'd w/syclones?

SY2185 is going back on the road w/in the next few weeks. Despite being down for like 2 years(had a kid born) it's got a fresh motor, new tial ext. WG, 9/11 conv. and a full built 700r4 from B.Hartman built to handle a trans brake. It needs stupid stuff, like the trans line pressures checked per...

    Battery drain through horn/dm fuse

So far I'm good all the way through the dome light, dimmer switch, both doors' switches and the vanity lights on the visors work. The drain goes away when I unplug the radio connector that's labeled +12v memory and something else(can't remember) that connects to a 2 wire factory...

    wiring help-where's this wire go?pics

Finally back together after 9 months, my sy developed a current drain when off that was strong enough to drain a fully charger optima in about a day and a half. B/c I'd moved the starter sol. to the bed of the truck as well as adding a FP relay,850cfm fan and relay, and laptop charger and relay...

Poly mount question that has nothing to do w/installation

Just fired the Sy up after a long time and among other things, the installation of poly engine and trans mounts. I noticed though that I can sure feel the motor alot more when in the truck. It's not annoying, or aproblem so much, it just feels different. But it makes me wonder if during the...

    Remote trans filter flow rates

My trans builder warned me not to use a remote inline spin on type trans filter claiming they've been known to restrict flow enough to blow a trans. They sent me a high flow inline magnetic filter instead, saying to only use it for the first few thousand miles, then remove it from the system and...

Question on amp draw from starter and inline fuses

My battery is in the front pass. side corner of the bed and is wired as follows- Neg. side through bed floor to frame(ground straps from cab,bed floor and trans case all attach here so they all are directly touching the main batt. ground cable). Positive side (2ga.) comes off the batt., goes...

Does your 9/11TC chatter?I've Got a TC bolt question.

Just wondering, my trans builder's instructions for installation mention that TC bolt lengths are critical and do vary. The consequence for not checking them is they'll bottom out on the TC and cause a little dimple on the outside of where the TCC operates, causing the TCC to chatter and slip...
